Consignment Terms
1. For saddles to be considered for consignment they must be clean, have no broken parts, have no excessive damage, and be complete and usable. If the saddle is not clean there will be a $50 cleaning fee. The saddle will be forwarded to a Society of Master Saddlers (SMS) Master Saddler for any required repairs. It is recommended that you contact us prior to agreement of these terms if you are aware of any required repairs for a repair quote. All saddles will have their flocking returned to level for the benefit of accurate assessment during trials and potential buyers. Any fees applicable may be taken from the final sale price. If not sold, fees are payable before saddles will be returned. 2nd Love Saddles (Ltd.) reserves the right to refuse acceptance of saddles for any reason, or void this agreement should the saddle be found unfit for purpose after the agreement date.
2. Saddles remain your property whilst consigned with 2nd Love Saddles, however, you agree not to advertise consigned saddles through any other platform unless it is to direct someone to 2nd Love Saddles listings. Saddles will be advertised exclusively by 2nd Love Saddles.
3. Consigned saddles will remain with 2nd Love Saddles for a minimum of 3 months beginning the day the saddles are received and in physical possession. Saddles that are requested to be returned within the first 3 months will incur an early withdrawal fee of 10% of the saddle’s advertised price. There is no charge to request saddles to be returned after the initial 3 months. Return shipping will be at your expense.
4. If saddles do not sell within 3 months we will contact you to discuss what you wish to do, i.e. have the saddle(s) returned or reconsider the pricing. We do not guarantee the sale of saddles in a specific time. Saddles may remain with 2nd Love Saddles for up 12 months, after which we will make at least 3 attempts to contact you by phone, email or Facebook Messenger to organise the return of your saddle(s) at your expense. If we are unable to get an answer then the saddle(s) will become the property of 2nd Love Saddles.
5. You accept that 2nd Love Saddles will display consigned saddles on our website, Facebook page, at equine events, and saddles may be taken on saddle fitting trips with a SMS Qualified Saddle Fitter in the attempt to achieve the Desired Sell price. Saddles will not be sold below the Minimum Sell Price without first contacting you for permission.
6. 2nd Love Saddles provides an 8 day saddle trial period to our customers. You agree that consigned saddles may go out on trial periods and that a reasonable amount or wear may occur during this period. Trial customers will be responsible for saddles in their possession.
7. 2nd Love Saddles will retain 15% commission of the final sell price as a consignment fee. The remaining sum, less any initial cleaning, repair or maintenance fees, will be transferred to you within 30 days after the completion of the saddle trial period.
8. To avoid any loss or damage to saddles during shipping, we strongly recommend that you send saddles tracked and insured. 2nd Love Saddles takes no responsibility for saddles lost or damaged in transit prior to being received by us. Should you request saddles to be returned, the cost of return postage will be payable before saddles are shipped. This is in addition to any cleaning, repair, maintenance or early withdrawal fees applicable.
